This dyed jade Foo Dragon was broken into two pieces.
There was enough contact surface and therefore it wasn´t necessary to add pins or other extraneous materials to obtain a secure joint. The jade surfaces were deeply cleaned to eliminate any loose material, and degreased to obtain a secure joint.
To attach the jade pieces together a stone adhesive was used. Some little jade chips missing were filled with a tinted translucent polyester resin so that a similar appearance to the original surface was obtained. The surface of the joint was polished to obtain a similar finish to the surface.
